Since 1990, the ladies' activities at BYC have been designed to encourage women and girls to engage in sports, fitness, and social activities. Initially, the offerings included badminton, football, netball, rounders, cricket, and fitness classes, catering to the community's diverse interests.
Over time, the ladies' wing sought more specialized activities, as fewer women were drawn to the sports popular with the male members. Starting with aerobics classes, which blended circuit training, calypso dance, and high-impact training, we later embraced the growing popularity of Zumba.
To enhance the experience, BYC partnered with Vincent De Lima Fitness (VDLF) in 2019, allowing members to choose from 3 weekly Zumba classes that fit their schedules. This flexible approach has been a success for the last 5 years, offering high-energy classes with a great atmosphere—something that Zumba lovers truly appreciate.
